The DAP Teluk Intan Community Centre is organizing a “Color Run” event to celebrate Malaysia Day on September 16 2014.
The run is open to the public for a fee of RM 20 per person. The run, that begins at the DAP Community Centre would cover a 5 kilometre distance through the Teluk Intan town.
DAP’s Dyana Sofya Mohd Daud said that the Malaysia Day event intends to promote a healthy lifestyle.
“The run is divided into 4 categories; women, men, veteran men, and veteran women,” the veteran’s groups are open to those over 50, while the other 2 categories are open to all.
The first place finisher would receive RM 300, RM 200 for second place, and RM 100 for third. Fourth to fifth place finishers would receive RM 50 and a certificate of entry each.
Dyana Sofya who spoke at the press conference held at the DAP headquarters today said that the event hopes to attract close to 400 people and that the deadline for entries would be announced soon.
“Our theme for the run is ‘no matter what colour you are, we are all Malaysians’. We are all together trying to reach the finish line,” she said.
