Malaysians deserve a government that is fair and respects diversity.

DAP Secretary-General, Lim Guan Eng on Sunday iterated that the Pakatan Harapan coalition will fight for Malaysia’s future in the next General Election (GE) through these means:

• Economic policies that benefits the rakyat, not cronies.
• Good governance that optimises service delivery.
• Values of inclusion, diversity and justice as embodied in the Federal Constitution.
• National unity and integration with Sabah and Sarawak.

During a speech at the DAP Negeri Sembilan State Ordinary Convention in Seremban yesterday, Lim also stressed that PH will be focusing on creating and saving jobs as well as preventing business closures during this economic recession. He asserted,

“One-off aid cannot save our economy especially the crippled tourism sector that lost RM100 billion last year.”

Instead, the DAP Secretary-General iterated that we need a serial recurring assistance such as the previous PH’s Malaysia@Work programme that was heartlessly discontinued by the Perikatan Nasional (PN) government.

Thanks to PN’s revenge politics, the rakyat missed out on employment opportunities, whereby the Malaysia@Work programme offered the below initiatives:

• Wage incentives of RM500/month to Malaysian workers.
• Hiring incentives of RM300/month to employers for a period of 2 years.

Lim Guan Eng, who is also the Member of Parliament (MP) for Bagan also warned Malaysians against PN’s dangerous tactics of division and extremism. He stressed,

“Malaysians must reject PN dangerous tactics of dividing Malaysians with racist and extremist religious rhetoric and discriminatory policies.”

Lim then referred to plans by members of the PN government that want to gerrymander constituencies that are biased and create an electoral religious and racial apartheid that is clearly unconstitutional. Furthermore, unlike in the past, PN Ministers are not ashamed of making racists or extremist statements that hurt the rakyat.

Malaysians do not deserve this unelected, incompetent and double standard PN government. Instead, the rakyat deserve a government such as Pakatan Harapan that respects diversity, is inclusive to all and seeks to unite the whole of the rakyat to battle Covid-19 together. – The Rocket.
