PKR headquarters attacked again

PETALING JAYA, 11 March: In another incident of political violence, 50 hooligans attacked the PKR headquarters and caused a ruckus outside the premises at 5pm on 11 March.

The group were part of a protest organised by pro-UMNO hardline outfit Global Movement of Moderates (GMM) to accuse PKR leader Anwar Ibrahim of instigating the Sabah Sulu incursion.

Protestors hurled eggs, sticks, and traffic cones towards the building, which injured a PKR staff S. Balakumaran. A PKR flag was also burnt in this latest in a string of at least six incidents of intimidation and violence against Pakatan Rakyat.

Last week, PR ceramahs in Melaka and Perak were gatecrashed by thugs wielding BN flags, which left one rally-goer in Melaka injured and bleeding, while the Perak ceramah was called off and speakers escorted away by police. In separate previous incidents, the PKR merdeka rakyat bus was pelted with paint and PKR veep Tian Chua received death threats.

In a press conference, PKR strategic director Rafizi Ramli condemned the attack which he said was premeditated, violent and criminal.

He blamed the police for not acting against the perpetrators, particularly since the Tropicana police station is two doors away from where the incident took place. Photos and videos of the attack have been circulating on YouTube, but police have yet to act on the evidence. -The Rocket
