Consistent updating, rich content, and an online strategy campaign has borne fruit for DAP in a survey of facebook user aged 21 and above (eligible voters).
The survey conducted by a non-partisan research firm has shown that the official facebook fan page of DAP has the highest number of ‘likes’ as compared to the other major political parties in Malaysia.
According to the survey conducted by PoliTweet.org, DAP was leading the cyberspace charge with 467,040 likes as of March 2013. This was followed by PKR at 84,660 likes and UMNO at 292,260 likes respectively.
PAS and Gerakan performed moderately well with 222,900 and 138,840 likes respectively during the same period. Whereas MCA and MIC performed poorly with only 34,540 and 28,420 likes.
DAP also came out tops in the individual breakdown of likes according to gender, with 129,000 females and 334,200 males liking the page. The remainder of likes came from users who did not specify their gender.
Users who like the DAP page can expect more frequent updating, interesting commentaries, comics, and columns with information on leaders, ceramahs, and live reports from the ground in the run-up to the 13th general election.
