Can UMNO prove its 1Malaysia credentials by acting against Datuk Mohd Noor for creating hatred, fear and threatening the chinese community to suffer a backlash from UMNO Malays?
On the 44th anniversary of the tragic May 13 riots in 1969, Malaysians continue to be reminded how they have made the right choice in the 13th General Elections to reject the racist BN and UMNO. 51% of Malaysians have chosen to support PR and reject the racist hatred of BN and UMNO, exemplified by UMNO’s paper Utusan Malaysia’s call for May 13 to be celebrated as a holy day, as if to celebrate the deaths of hundreds if not thousands of innocent Malaysians.
Even though a majority of Malaysians comprising Malays, Indians, Chinese, Kadazan and Ibans have rejected BN’s politics of hatred and fear, UMNO leaders continue to spew racial hatred towards non-Malays. Today we have the defeated UMNO candidate for Shah Alam Zulkifli Noordin lying that DAP wanted Malays to die and Lim Kit Siang caused the May 3 riots in Kuala Lumpur, even though Lim was in Sabah during the period.
A former Court of Appeal Judge and UMNO Disciplinary Committee Appeals board member Datuk Mohd Noor Abdullah threatened the Chinese community to be prepared for a backlash from the Malay community for their “betrayal” in the recently concluded 13th general election. Datuk Mohd Noor must be referring to a backlash from UMNO Malays and not the Malays who voted for DAP and PR. How can a judge be so irrational and senseless to say that by voting for Malay-based PAS and PKR but not UMNO, the Chinese have betrayed the Malays?
Such remarks by UMNO leaders have angered not only the Chinese but all Malaysians. PR Parliamentary Opposition Leader and Prime Minister-designate, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has correctly described Datuk Mohd Noor “racist” remarks as putting the Klu Klux Klan(KKK) to shame and make German Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler proud. KKK is an illegal white supremacist organisation that persecuted blacks and Hitler is the ultimate racist in world history. Anwar promised that PR would show a direct contrast to UMNO by not spread such racial discord but propagate peace and mutual respect among the country’s many races.
Can Datuk Mohd Noor show proof to back up his accusation that the Chinese were plotting to “seize political power” from the Malays? Again his remarks threatening to seize the assets and rights of non-Malays is another massive cover-up of the failure to address corruption by Malays, Chinese and Indians in BN.
What has Mohd Noor done as a member of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) complaints committee to combat corruption, especially the missing RM52 billion bumi shares scam, which disappeared without reaching the poor Malays and bumis? If PR had won power, a full investigation would have been carried and forced those who “swallowed” the RM52 billion to “refund” back to the poor Malays and bumis. Similarly a “refund” for the RM 3 billion stolen from Indian community and RM14 billion from the Chinese community.
When the Elections Commission and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commssion(MACC) permit money politics and corruption investigations to be compromised, the easiest way out is to exploit racial hatred to hide their failures. Why has Datuk Mohd Noor not thought of poor Malays who missed out on RM 52 billion in shares? Why has Datuk Mohd Noor not pressed for action to be taken against Sarawak Chief Minister Tan Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud’s refusal to co-operate with the MACC and attacking MACC as dishonest and naughty?
For a Sarawak Chief Minister to refuse to co-operate with MACC over corruption allegations against him is a serious breach of duty and statutory obligation. Under section 47 and 48 of the MACC Act 2009, such refusal to co-operate with MACC when you are subject to investigation, may be an offence which can be punished by a maximum fine of RM 10,000 or imprisonment of 2 years or both. And yet MACC failed to act against Taib Mahmud without any protest from a former judge such as Datuk Mohd Noor.
Can UMNO prove its 1 Malaysia credentials by acting against Datuk Mohd Noor for creating hatred, fear and threatening the Chinese community to suffer a backlash from UMNO Malays? Should UMNO fail to do so, then UMNO should not blame MCA or Gerakan for failing to gain non-Malay support but must bear full responsibility for causing the electoral collpase of MCA and Gerakan. -The Rocket
