To commemorate legendary martial artist Bruce Lee’s 75th birthday this year, the Gabungan Impian Kelantan in collaboration with the Hong Kong Bruce Lee Club and Malaysia Mandarin Comic Society will hold a Charity Art Exhibition.
The exhibition, which will raise funds for the Kelantan flood disaster relief efforts, will be touring five cities, namely Penang, Ipoh, Johor Bahru, Kota Bahru and Kuala Lumpur (see more below).
Kicking off in Penang at Komtar ICT Mall, the event will be attended by Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng and Penang State EXCO Chow Kon Yeow as well as MPs and ADUNs in Penang.
A variety of programmes will be held to raise funds for the Kelantan flood disaster in efforts to rebuild lives of those affected by the devastation.
The event aims to raise RM 200, 000 from the charity exhibition.
There are 126 artists and illustrators from Hong Kong, Taiwan, Mainland China, Philippines and Malaysia contributing 131 original artwork and digital paintings to be displayed in this exhibition.
“The 32 Hong Kong artists are mostly playing important roles in the creative industries, such as “the Godfather of Hong Kong movie poster” Yuen Taiyung, Hong Kong top 3D animator Shannon Ma, top illustrators like Adam Chow and Milton Wong, prestigious political cartoonist Malone, famous cartoonist Tsui Shing On, and Hong Kong Martial Art comic artists Fuklung Dark, Dick Kwong, Jerry Cho, Andy Woo, Cheung Man Yau,Kenneth Cheng, Beyen Tai and etc,” read the statement from Impian Kelantan today.
The exhibition will see works from local artists including Malaysian mandarin cartoonists Eddie See , Cheong Swee Seng, Woody Pecker, Keith Chong Kah Hwee, Chow Moon Wai, Chong Po Ling, Chang Boon Kiat, Sengcomic and Tan Kheng Seng; as well as superhero comic artists who create graphics for DC and Marvel such as Tan Eng Huat, Alan Quah and Billy Tan. Lastly, there are outstanding illustrators such as Vince Low, Lim Seng Hooi, Lee Wee Chong and Chong Jit Leong.
The 131 pieces of art will be sold at the exhibition, at four price categories: RM 1000, RM 2500, RM 5000 and RM 10,000.
Other than the said works of art, there will also be digital paintings and other Bruce Lee memorabilia for sale.
The late Bruce Lee was an iconic martial artist from China whose breakthrough into Hollywood spawned a global industry of kungfu and martial art films.

The locations for the exhibition are: ICT Mall Penang (29 May to 2 June), Ipoh Parade (5 June to 8 June), The Mines Kuala Lumpur (11 June to 16 June), Plaza Pelangi Johor Bahru ( 19 June to 21 June), Kota Baru Mall Kelantan ( 25 June to 27 June).
