Malaysia should set up a legal team to push for justice for the victims of MH17 at an international level.
It is trite that in cases like these or any investigation for that matter, time is of the essence and all efforts and demands need to be made so as to obtain access to information and evidence.
It is also of utmost importance at the very outset that the place of the incident be preserved until investigations are complete so as to ensure that evidence is not tampered with or disposed.
Malaysia cannot sit back and wait in moments like these. We must take steps to safeguard our interests and that of the victims of this tragedy.
We must do whatever we can in order to ensure that justice is done for the victims of MH17 both at a national and an international level. Nothing less will suffice.
As such, I call upon the Prime Minister and the Attorney-General to seriously consider roping in a team of lawyers and experts both from Malaysia and abroad who are familiar with the international legal provisions which are applicable to assist without any delay.
I also assure them that we in the DAP and Pakatan Rakyat are fully prepared to assist if we could be of any possible assistance as this a matter of national concern and one on which we all, politics aside, stand united.
