Press Statement by the Pakatan Harapan Secretariat Council – 22 June 2020
The Pakatan Harapan Secretariat Council takes notice of the ongoing series of actions, whereby opposition MPs including those from Pakatan Harapan have been hauled up by the authorities for investigation, with some of these actions being accompanied with media reports that create a certain perception towards these individuals.
The Secretariat is of the view that these actions are a form of intimidation against political foes.
We strongly condemn the intimidation.
Perikatan Nasional should be more matured and open in handling differing political views. These intimidations would only create a bad perception towards politics and the Malaysian democracy in the eyes of the world.
Pakatan Harapan Secretariat urges for these acts of intimidation to be halted immediately. Democracy in Malaysia needs to be defended and safeguarded from certain quarters that intend to create chaos for their personal and political group’s gain.
